FAQs

  • My hair is very thin and I'm fed up with my flat hairstyle. Will regular cutting make it grow thicker?

Firstly you don't have to suffer from flat hair anymore, but to answer your question, sorry, but cutting your hair won't make it grow any thicker.

  • Why do some hairdressers' want to trim my hair when I'm trying to grow it?

As your hair gets longer it tends to look very wispy and thin at the ends, so trimming it will make it appear thicker and look healthier, and isn't that a good thing? At Scamps we will advise you what we believe is best, but in the end, you, the client, makes the decision to trim, or not to trim, but don't forget to regularly trim any split ends you might have, to avoid breakage.

  • When I have my foils done, I hate it when it starts to grow out and I have an obvious 'tide mark' right in the front at the roots. How can I avoid this?

At Scamps to avoid this problem, we would leave a very fine section out (what we call, a 'veil') across the parting area in the front and place slightly heavier foils directly underneath it. This method leaves a small wispy amount of the un-highlighted hair out (over the top of the foiled area) so that when your hair grows the regrowth is far less obvious, because the colour showing is the same as your overall hair colour, not the hi-lighted colour. It works a treat!
