The largest of all states and territories, Western Australia occupies almost one third of the total land size of Australia. WA shares a border with both the Northern Territory and South Australia to the east, as well as 13,000 km of coastline wrapping around the west from the top of the country to the bottom.

Despite all this land, WA ranks fourth on the list of population – and the vast majority of people live in the south-west corner of the state. Western Australia is divided into five major regions; the Coral Coast, Golden Outback, North West, Perth and South West. The economy is driven by the mining industry – Western Australia is the second-largest iron ore producer in the world. Inner city Perth is a happening scene. With shopping, cafes, events, restaurants, bars, art and natural beauty galore, plus a whole lot of beautiful ways to learn about history and culture.

The beautiful Swan River that snakes its way through the city is the centre stage for festivals and celebrations throughout the year. And with a number of stunning beaches right on the doorstep of the CBD, Perth locals can easily enjoy a healthy balance between work and play! Good old Freo really has it all.
